It is the poets who have influenced my art more than the visual artists. I see and hear the words and I translate them to motion in paint, movement in the brain and in the heart creates the forms on canvas, in assemblage, in pen and ink, pastel--- through whatever portal in substance It chooses to be born.
There are so many beloved poets they are nearly innumerable, but if I had to list the ones that I feel whose presence is a constant in my work in the past and at present, they are: my father, t.l. Kryss, Naomi Shihab Nye, Yehuda Amichai, Adrienne Rich, Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, Pablo Neruda, d.a. levy, and King David.
I wish to share with you the musicians, the artists, the poets and writers, who have imprinted on my eyes, my ears, and on my heart.
